Cisco WIC-1B-U Overview

WIC-1B-U is a WAN interface card. This module includes an ISDN BRI port whose connector is RJ-45 type. This module Supported on 1600, 2600, 3600 and It Can not be used with Cisco 1603 or 1604 base units. WIC-1B-U Can go into slot W0 or W1 of the 1E2W, 2E2W, and 1E1R2W network modules and Supported in NM-1FE1R2W, NM-1FE2W, NM-2FE2W, and NM-2W. The card includes security features such as support for peer-to-peer authentication protocols (PPP). This protocol prevents unauthorized access. It also supports Cisco’s proprietary authentication protocol (CHAP), which provides an additional layer of security for PPP connections. This module has features such as ACL and virtual private network (VPN) support.
Cisco WIC-1B-U uses NBAR to detect certain types of traffic in the network. NBAR is a network-based application detection technology. This technology prevents unauthorized access to the network. This module Cannot mix in same Network module with a WIC36-1B-U WIC. (A WIC36-1B-U can be used in a different Network Module in the same system)
