Cisco VWIC-2MFT-T1/E1 Overview

Cisco VWIC-2MFT-T1/E1 Plug-in-Module Voice/WAN Interface is a Router Card. This module includes 2-Port RJ-48 Multi flex Trunk-E1 and 2.05 Mbps E1 data transfer rate.
This module maximizes features and capabilities such as reduced training, deployment, management and inventory storage on single-purpose interfaces.
It also has multipurpose support for LAN to LAN routing, voice and data. This module supports Cisco 3700, 3600, 2800, 2600, 3800 series. E1 versions of this module support both balanced and unbalanced modes.

Users who choose to integrate voice and data in a phased manner preserve their investment in WAN interfaces. For example, the Multi flex VWIC can support data-only applications as a WAN interface, then be reused to integrate voice and data with Drop and Insert multiplexer functionality, and/or to support voice over IP [VoIP]. or Voice to be configured on Frame Relay [VoFR]) when in NM-HDV, NM-HD-2VE, or NM-HDV2.This module, in addition to supporting Drop and Insert, 2-port Drop and Insert VWICs have all the features of Multiflex 1 and 2-port VWICs. So, for example, on a Cisco 2600 they can act as 2-port T1/E1 interfaces with an integrated DSU/CSU when drop and insert are not configured.
