The front panel of this model has 48 SFP+ ports, expansion modules and an ID LED. These letters stand for Unified Port. Unified Port means the Nexus 5596UP switch, in addition to moving Ethernet packets, it can transmit SAN packets both on the Ethernet platform and locally.
