Introducing Cisco N2K-C2248TP-1GE Nexus Fabric Extenders (FEX) designed to simplify data center access architecture and operations. The Cisco Nexus 2000 Series features FEX-link architecture to provide a unified server access platform with speeds of 100 Mbps Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, 10 Gigabit Ethernet. This switch has 48×100/1000Base-T + 4x10GE (req SFP+).

N2K-C2248TP-1GE Nexus 2000 Series connects to a parent  switch through its fabric links using CX1 copper cable, short or long-haul optics, and cost-effective Cisco Fabric Extender transceivers. Cisco Fabric Transceivers are optical transceivers that provide a cost-effective solution for connecting a fabric extender to a mother switch.
