Cisco 1000BASE-LX Overview

Cisco 1000BASE-LX high performance with LC connector is a SFP Module.
1000BASE-LX industrial standard SFP is an input, output device, this module is hot-swappable.  transceiver includes a link length of 20 km on SMF optical fiber. Cisco SMF optical fibers transmit optical signals directly in horizontal mode. It includes -9.5 ~ -3dBm Tx Power and 1000Mbps data rate. These modules are used for optical fiber cabling following the IEEE 802.3z standard.1000BASE-LX is suitable for long-range applications such as wide WAN networks, MANS urban networks, and long-distance connections between different locations. But on the other hand, 1000BASE-SX modules are used for short-range applications such as local area networks, LANs, etc.

Cisco includes FP 1310nm Optical Components. FP is a laser device which is used to transmit low-speed data in a short distance, whose wavelength is 1310 nm. DFB lasers are used to transmit data over long distances. It supports IEEE 802.3ah-2004, IEEE 802.3z protocol.
